One of a Kind

*Update -- this has been sold, BUT hopefully there will be more over the summer.

I have a ridiculous fabric stash that has been growing over the past few years.  I have walked into fabric stores with the intention of buying 1/2 yard to use for trim . . . and then 5 or 6 yards later . . .

So I have to purge a little, which brings me to the next item -- Isabella's Outfit in a size 3.

This is our sweet little neighbor who is sooo stinkin' cute I could eat her up.  I attempted to try this outfit on Mimi and she acted like I was ripping her arms off, so I just stole the neighbor's kid (and it was a little too small for her, so I guess I can't be too disappointed).  I asked Izzie to smile . . . and she did.  I asked her to put her hands on her hips, and once again she did.  Wow, anyone want to hire a cute little model?  I know of a great one . . .

And to the side . . . wow, and I didn't even have to ask twice . . .

This outfit consists of three pieces -- the headband, chambray top, and cute little Darby shorts (that Amy from Brownie Goose totally named after me.  I just know she did).

Now excited face, Izzie.  See, this girl doesn't stop.

Back pocket detail.  The shorts have an elastic waist which makes them so comfy and allows for some growing room.  Mimi has a pair she wore for two summers -- and I'm tempted to pull them back out this summer.  I searched and searched for the perfect shorts pattern that wasn't too babyish or grown-up, and I can't find anything better than these Darby shorts (check out the pattern on Brownie Goose's Etsy site -- you won't be disappointed).

Loooove the big wooden button . . .

. . . and the pretty headband.

So here's how to order:

I only have ONE of these, and it's a size 3.  Izzie can wear some 3's and some 4's, so she was the perfect size for this.

The entire set which includes shirt, shorts, and headband sell for $45 (shipping is included!!).  The first to e-mail me at mimiandmack@yahoo.com will win!  Ready, set, goooooooo!!!!!!

By the way, the top is a version of a pattern from Nina Bonita.  Click on my link to the right to check out her gorgeous patterns!!

Fairy Tale Skirt

*Update -- orders have closed for this.

Mimi and I are so excited . . .

to share this with you!!!

My first item up for sale -- the Fairy Tale Skirt.

And guess what else.  It comes with this sweet little necklace.  Who doesn't like to accessorize??

She has a flat front, elastic in the back for comfort, a beautiful sash with belt loops to keep it in place, and some cute little pink deer.  I'm pretty sure Goldilocks is going to pop out from behind a tree any second.

The sash wraps around twice, which makes it soooo pretty.

Since it's still a bit chilly in Chicago, the Fairy Tale Skirt is lined.  Just add a cardigan and some warm tights, and she'll be the prettiest thing in the Midwest.  If you're in the South and are already sweating, let me know if you don't care for lining (and I'll take $5 off).

Whaaat?  You mean this skirt isn't for me??

At least let me keep the necklace . . .

So here's what you need to know to get your Fairy Tale skirt . . .

The skirt AND necklace is $35 plus $3 shipping if not in Chicago.  The unlined skirt and necklace is $30 plus $3 shipping.

It comes in sizes 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8.  If you're dying for a size 10, it will be $5 extra.  Send me your daughter's waist measurement if you're unsure of size.

Send your order to mimiandmack@yahoo.com.  I need your size, whether you want it lined or not, your address, and your PayPal e-mail address.

I thought I might wait until Friday to take orders, but . . . why not send in your order now?  I'll close orders this Friday, February 1st at midnight.

A little about mimi & mack

Three years ago I was browsing in an adorable children's boutique searching for the perfect baby gift for a new mommy friend.  I chose a simple top and ruffled bloomers set, and was shocked to see the price tag -- $60!  I've always loved, loved, loved shopping for my daughter and other little ones, but this was enough.  I could make that.  I knew I could.

So I bought a sewing machine on a whim and stayed up late at night practicing and cussing and ripping messed up seams (and cussing more), but I was so happy after finally making an outfit for Mimi.  I found a wonderful fabric store that let me spend as much time as I wanted browsing and asking questions.  Others like those sweet women were kind enough to give me suggestions and share patterns, and before I knew it I was in love.

The problem is that my daughter has more clothes than I can store in our small Chicago condo, so I'm ready to share a little.  And that's where you come into the picture with mimi & mack -- my new baby.  My hope is to come up with something new every 2-4 weeks and then take as many orders as I can handle.  I will sew mainly for girls sizes 2 - 8 (and possibly 10), but I may be able to sneak in a boy item occasionally.

By the way, please check out the recommended blogs and shops to the right -- I'm crazy about all of them.:)

This little number is coming up soon --

And, yes, that sweet little necklace is included.  Stay tuned for more details on how to order . . .
